Equipment

  • Large Skillet or sauté pan
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Whisk

Ingredients

For the Beef:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

For the Sauce and Noodles:

  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.5 ounces

Instructions

  • Cook the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the ground beef until browned and no longer pink, crumbling it with a spatula as it cooks. Drain any excess grease if necessary. Add salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder to the beef and mix well. Stir well to combine. Sprinkle cornstarch over the beef and stir until coated evenly. Take out the beef from the skillet and also set it aside on a plate.
  • Prepare the Sauce and Noodles: In the same skillet, combine beef broth, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk together to create a smooth mixture. Heat the liquid on medium-high until it reaches a boil. Add the egg noodles, reduce the heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, mixing until fully combined. Simmer the mixture for 3-5 more minutes to thicken and blend the flavors.
  • Serve: Dish the stroganoff into bowls or plates and garnish with fresh parsley if you like. Serve the dish warm with crusty bread or a side salad.

Notes

  • Make It Gluten-Free: Use gluten-free noodles and cream of mushroom soup to adapt this recipe.
  • Add Veggies: Incorporate sautéed mushrooms, onions, or peas for added nutrition and texture.
  • Storage Tips: Place leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days, ensuring they stay fresh and delicious. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave, adding a little liquid if needed to restore the creamy texture.
