Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Baking sheet
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Mixing bowl
  • Basting brush
  • Aluminum foil

Ingredients

For the Meat Filling:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Sliders:

  • 12 dinner rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese
  • Pickles or pepperoncini optional

Special Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon mustard

Garlic Herb Butter:

  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan

Instructions

  • Prepare the Meat Filling: Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until it's browned, breaking it up with a spatula while it cooks. Stir in the Gochujang, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for an extra 2-3 minutes to let the flavors blend. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Dinner Rolls: Cut the dinner rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom connected as one piece. Put the bottom halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Assemble the Sliders: Spread half of the shredded cheese on the bottom rolls. Spread the meat filling evenly over the cheese layer. Drizzle the special sauce over the meat and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Place the top halves of the rolls on top of the assembled sliders.
  • Add Garlic Herb Butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with minced garlic, mixed herbs, and grated Parmesan. Brush the butter mixture generously on top of the rolls. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  • Bake the Sliders: Cover the sliders with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 minutes. Take off the foil and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  • Serve: Brush the sliders with any remaining garlic butter before serving. Serve hot with additional special sauce on the side.

Notes

  • You can prepare the meat filling up to a day in advance and store it in the fridge, which allows the flavors to develop even more. Simply reheat it gently on the stove or in the microwave before assembling the sliders to ensure everything is warm and flavorful.
  • For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free rolls, which are widely available in stores or can be made at home for a more personal touch.
  • To make the dish spicier, consider adding a pinch of chili flakes, extra Gochujang, or even a dash of hot sauce to the meat filling. This customization lets you tailor the heat level to your preference while keeping the balance of flavors intact.
