Equipment

  • casserole dish
  • Aluminum foil
  • Pastry Brush (for butter mixture)
  • Microwave or saucepan (to melt butter)
  • Sharp Knife

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • ¾ pound thin-sliced deli turkey
  • ¾ pound thin-sliced Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup unsalted butter 1 stick
  • ½ tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tablespoon everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  • Prepare the Oven and Dish: Set your oven to 350°F to begin the cooking process. Line the casserole dish with aluminum foil and lightly spray it with nonstick spray.
  • Slice the Rolls: Keep the rolls intact and gently cut them in half horizontally for easy handling. Place the bottom half into the prepared casserole dish.
    Turkey Sliders step 1
  • Layer the Turkey and Cheese: Spread the turkey slices evenly across the bottom halves of the rolls, ensuring every slider gets a generous portion. Follow with an even layer of Swiss cheese, ensuring each slider gets a generous amount.
    Turkey Sliders Step 2
  • Top the Sliders: Place the top halves of the rolls over the turkey and cheese layers, aligning them carefully.
  • Prepare the Butter Mixture: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan. Mix in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and everything bagel seasoning, stirring thoroughly to blend all the flavors together.
    Turkey Sliders step 3
  • Brush and Rest: Use a pastry brush to evenly coat the tops of the rolls with the butter mixture, ensuring full coverage for added flavor. Allow the sliders to rest for 5 minutes so the buns can soak up the buttery goodness.
    Turkey Sliders step 4
  • Bake: Cover the sliders with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes. Take off the foil in the final 5 minutes of baking to let the tops brown beautifully and develop a golden crust.
  • Serve: Take the sliders out of the oven and allow them to rest for a few minutes to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

  1. For added flavor, include a layer of cranberry sauce or honey mustard between the turkey and cheese.
  2. Use leftover roasted turkey for an even more flavorful twist.
  3. You can prepare these sliders in advance, cover them tightly, and bake them right before serving to ensure they’re fresh and delicious.
  4. Try adding a sprinkle of fresh herbs like thyme or parsley for an earthy touch.
  5. Incorporate a thin slice of tomato or avocado for added freshness and texture.
  6. Experiment with different glazes, such as a maple-Dijon blend, for a slightly sweet and tangy finish.
